Selling like hotcakes... - Guild Wars Forums

Well I was at my local EBGames a few weeks ago and decided to preorder Guild Wars. I knew that you get a bonus CD that allows you to reserve a character name and play on beta weekends, so I asked if they had one. They were sadly sold out. So I asked them how many preorders they had sold. He looked on his computer and told me that they had already sold three sets of fifty. Each set of fifty was sold in under an hour! Man, this is going to be a hugely popular game.

Guild Wars could possibly change the entire MMO market with the new expansion type MMO design. It will appeal much more to the casual gamer and I believe it will sell better then most MMO's because of that.

I checked your posting rules and faqs for this but I didn't see anything about it. If any one would be kind enough to give me an extra friend beta CD key I would be more then greatful. Sorry to sound like a bum but I really want to play this weekend and not a single store in a ten mile radius has a single preorder copy left

Just thought I'd drop in and say "Hi"... I heard about GW before, but never considered buying it. Then half of the game-playing group at my school preordered it, and stopped talking about Runescape to talk about GW, so I went and preordered it... Looks pretty interesting... WoW was fun, but I couldn't afford the monthly cost.
